Grow (the “App”) is operated by Papaview LLC (“Papaview,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Grow phone app and the Grow TV app.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
We collect only what the App needs to work. We do not require your email address, real name, phone number, or precise location.
Account information. When you register, we collect a username and a password. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is stored only as a secure one-way hash (bcrypt).
Group activity. When you use the App we store the groups you create or join, your role in them, the boards and goals you set up, and your contributions — each contribution is an action you tap, an amount, an optional short note you write, and a timestamp. This is what fills in the tree, temple, or picture on the shared display.
Images you upload. If you choose to upload your own picture for a board, we store that image on our server so it can be shown on the board.
Information stored on your device. The App stores a sign-in token on your device to keep you logged in, and it may temporarily store contributions you make while offline so they can sync when you reconnect. When you upload a picture, the App accesses the photo you select from your device — only that photo, and only when you pick it.
What we do not collect. We do not collect advertising identifiers, contacts, or precise location, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics tracking software.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
- run the App — show group progress, tally contributions, and keep boards in sync across members' phones and any paired TV;
- store and display a picture you upload for a board; and
- protect the service (for example, preventing abuse and diagnosing problems).
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How your information is shared
With your group. Your username, your contributions, and any picture you upload for a board are visible to other members of the same group and are shown on TVs that are paired to that group. Only people you invite (using your group's join code) can join your group.
Service providers. We operate the App's backend ourselves. Network traffic between the App and our server is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which processes it in transit to route and secure the connection. We do not share your information with any other third parties for their own purposes.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Papaview, our users, or the public.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information until you delete it.
- Delete your account in the App: open the menu, go to Account, and choose Delete account. To keep group totals accurate, contributions you already made may be retained but are disassociated from your identity (they become authorless).
- Request deletion by email: you can also email us at the address below to request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Uploaded pictures: an uploaded image that is not used by any board is automatically deleted, and images tied to a board are deleted when that board or group is deleted.
Security
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, and traffic between the App and our server is encrypted using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can review or update your account information in the App, and you can delete your account at any time as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App.
