This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Papaview Terms of Service. It explains what you cannot do with the Service. If you violate it, we may remove content, suspend or terminate your account, and — where required — report you to law enforcement.
Zero-tolerance list
The following uses of Papaview are absolutely prohibited. We will remove the content, lock the account, preserve evidence, and report to the appropriate authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”), sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualizes minors in any way. This applies to real people, AI-generated depictions, cartoons, and drawings alike. We are required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A to report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- Non-consensual intimate imagery (sometimes called “revenge porn”).
- Content that facilitates human trafficking, including commercial sex trafficking (FOSTA/SESTA).
- Credible threats of violence against a person or group.
- Content that incites imminent violence or promotes terrorism.
Prohibited content (broadly)
- Sexually explicit content. Papaview is a family-photo product and the wall may appear on screens visible to children. Explicit content is removed regardless of participants' ages.
- Content that harasses, bullies, or targets an identifiable individual.
- Hate speech targeting a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar protected characteristics.
- Graphic violence or gore intended to shock.
- Promotion of self-harm or suicide.
- Content that depicts illegal activity (drug sales, weapons trafficking).
Rights and permissions
- Only upload content you created or have clear permission to share. Papaview responds to valid DMCA takedown notices.
- Don't upload recognizable images of people who have asked you not to share them.
- Don't upload content intended to deceive people about someone's identity (deepfakes used harmfully).
Misuse of the Service
- No scraping, crawling, or automated querying beyond what our documented APIs allow.
- No reselling, sublicensing, or rebranding Papaview as your own service.
- No circumventing storage, display, invite, or integration limits — including creating multiple free accounts to avoid the paid tier.
- No probing, penetration testing, or exploiting security vulnerabilities. If you've found one, email security@papaview.com; we respond quickly and pay reasonable bug bounties.
- No interfering with the Service (denial of service, excessive request rates, malware distribution).
How we enforce
Detection
- Automated hash comparison of uploads against the NCMEC hash list of known CSAM.
- User reports via the “Report this” button on any photo.
- Owner moderation queue for untrusted uploaders.
- Payment-processor and abuse-network signals.
Consequences
- First-time, minor violation: content removed, account warned.
- Repeated or serious violation: account suspended or terminated.
- CSAM or imminent-harm content: immediate account lock, content preserved for 90 days, report to NCMEC and, as appropriate, local law enforcement.
